After tediously following these bills through the legislative process, speaking at hearings, submitting letters and speaking with legislative aides, we have been very dismayed to find that our legislators are prioritizing the protection of Uber and Lyft's "business models", rather than public safety or equal protections under law.

The SFTWA has submitted the following veto requests to the governor of California:

AB 1289 -  Watered down background checks for TNC drivers in attempt to quash more significant rulings

AB 650 -  Statewide taxi regulation

AB 2763 - Allows TNC drivers to rent vehicles by the hour, but still be considered their "personal vehicle", not subject to normal commercial regulations!
